Combined with our Kami mounting fluid products the AZ-42 mylar will achieve the highest quality scan possible. The Application:
AZ-42 can be used on both Drum Scanners as well Flat Bed Scanners combined with KAMI mounting fluid to increase optical resolution Unlike other Mylar overlay materials AZ-42 is optically clear and invisable to the scanner. This equates to more effienet work flow and cleaner scans from the begining. RC.

Useful Hints:
AZ-42 can also be used for reflective scanning without mounting fluid which will allow you to mount a print on a surface without applying tape to your orginal print. This can be very useful espically in cases where the orginal material is delicate.

What is the difference between optical and interpolated resolution?

Optical resolution is the highest resolution a scanner can physically capture an image. The interpolated resolution is a software algorithim that makes the image appear as if it was scanned at a higher resolution. The software makes extra pixels to fill in the spaces to make the image larger than the actual scanned resolution. This is comparible to the digital zoom of a digital still camera.
