Mark Hemmings is an internationally recognized travel and commercial photographer. Mark began his career in the late 1990’s when working on feature films as a stills and location photographer. His work broadened to include international jobs with Lonely Planet Guidebooks, which had him photographing in Asia and Eastern Europe. Back home in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, Mark worked, and still works with various organizations and companies to help them with branding and advertising. In 2000 Mark moved to Japan for a year to learn advertising photography, and that year proved pivotal in shaping his lighting style and how he approaches photography within the context of advertising. In 2005 he started his side career as a photography workshop instructor, teaching people how to create better photographs in such diverse places as Mexico, England, Japan, Korea, Hungary, and Romania/Transylvania. Mark is also an accomplished commercial and travel filmmaker, and his films can be viewed here. Having started out his career in the film industry, Mark has a very good sense of how to create still photographs that are as cinematic as possible. Along with the other talented filmmakers and editors from Hemmings House Pictures, creating dynamic and inspiring films is always top priority.
