About:
BIO Let me introduce myself…Roxane Bay. I was born in Toronto Ontario Canada. I inherited my love of photography from my mother who once had a thriving photo studio in St-Georges de Beauce, Québec. My entertainment as a young girl was sifting through the myriad of photos that my mother accumulated over the years. I remember the old “Black Magic” chocolate boxes that she stored them in. I can still smell the chocolate. As I grew up and had children of my own, I spent time photographing and detailing their lives. I took art courses, as well as traditional folk crafts such as weaving and quilting while living in Quebec. These trades I learned from the elders. I moved back to Toronto in the 80's and enrolled in a photography course at George Brown College. After a few years I felt that I needed more knowledge on the art of photography and enrolled for a certificate program at Humber College in Photographic Techniques, which I graduated with honours in 2009. I have enjoyed during the summer of 2007 & 2008 touring Nova Scotia and documenting lighthouses. I have since moved to Nova Scotia as there are 164 documented lighthouses in . I was fortunate to have met and found a kindred spirit. Rip Irwin is a founding member and former president of the Nova Scotia Lighthouse Preservation Society. He is an avid photographer, who lives in Bible Hill Nova Scotia, and a most gracious host during my visits to Nova Scotia. I have recently relocated my business and family to Hubbards Cove Nova Scotia.
