Our clients are very special people! Most come to us because they understand art and quality and are not prepared to accept the formulae approach offered by other studios. They know that when they come to us, their photo session will be customized to meet their unique needs, their special personalities and that they will be treated with respect, comfort and discretion. They know that we will provide them with the quality of work they expect at a price that is not only fair, but frequently below the current industry rate. We are a husband and wife studio. Oleanna is a certified cosmetician and hair stylist. Every photo session includes a makeover by her. Oleanna also helps in the studio, to assist the clients with their posing and also to watch out for any details that might need to be adjusted while Frederick focuses more on the overall technical points of composing the image. Most women (and their husbands) appreciate that they will not be alone with the photographer and that having another woman in the studio to assist greatly contributes to their comfort level. We are a home based business. This is by far a better situation than commercial or retail space studios. Aside from the environment being more comfortable and private, we are able to flex our time to meet the needs of our clients. We are able to meet or shoot in evenings, weekends and even holidays and by working from home we are not constrained by retail hours. Unlike a retail or commercial space, they will not be strangers walking through the doors or other employees wandering around. By having a “by appointment only” policy, our clients are assured of privacy and discretion for their photo consultation, photo session and viewings. Editions by Frederick has created a unique niche among the photography industry. No other studio in Alberta has developed the merging of the digital world with traditional photography as well as we have. While some photographers have a working knowledge of such programs as Photoshop to do some basic editing,, Frederick has gone far beyond this by incorporating 3D rendering to create his amazing CyberSet™ Environments to provide his clients with possibilities unattainable through other studios. Considered and expert at image retouching, the hallmark of Frederick’s work is seamless, invisible work that addresses all of the client’s requests without having the final image look as though it had been retouched. Many of the techniques used by Editions by Frederick are the result of custom software and proprietary techniques, not “canned” filters. Our clients appreciate art and come to us because they understand that quality photography is not about taking pictures but rather about creating images. Quite frequently we hear that the art we create for our clients has been subsequently appraised at six to ten times more than what it cost them to have the work done.
