From 24 mm to 105 mm and F4 aperture throughout the zoom, the high-performance G Lens offers consistently high image quality. In addition to outstanding optical performance, it has a compact, lightweight design for portability and mobility befitting the E-mount system. Fast, precise AF and high reliability add to the broad utility of this fine zoom lens.

Excellent corner-to-corner imaging throughout the zoom range

Advanced optics achieve consistently high corner-to-corner resolution throughout the zoom range. Four aspherical elements effectively reduce aberration, while ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements minimize chromatic aberration. A circular aperture and carefully controlled spherical aberration shape add expressive potential with beautiful, smooth background bokeh and natural highlights that complement outstanding in-focus sharpness and clarity.

A one-lens solution for mobile, versatile shooting

Excellent optical performance and a high zoom ratio are packed into a compact, lightweight design weighing only 663 grams (23.4 oz). The design extends to E-mount bodies for outstanding system mobility and handling ease. This one high-performance lens lets you shoot a wide range of subjects and situations. A minimum focus distance of 0.38 metres (1.25 ft) and built-in optical image stabilization further enhance all-around versatility.

Constant F4 and fast, precise, quiet AF for stills and movies

A bright, constant F4 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range keeps the brightness even when focal length is changed. Sony's Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM) AF drive system offers fast, precise and quiet focusing. A precision optical design minimizes focus breathing. All of this makes the FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS an excellent choice for both stills and movies.

Professional reliability and operability

A fluorine coating on the front element prevents contaminants such as oils, grime and water from sticking to the front of the lens and makes them easier to remove if they do become attached to the lens surface. A dust and moisture resistant design2 and customizable focus hold button further contribute to professional operability and reliability.

Great versatile lens for crisp photos
This has been a great lens for various indoor and outdoor shoots. I keep this on the A7iii whenever I don't have the 50mm on it. It was great at a family event capturing quickly moving pets and children. This is a pricey lens but works very well. I can see myself using this is my travel lens once we can travel again.

Prime lens quality
I am a prime snob. I’d much rather carry a fistful of primes than have one do-it-all lens.....except for this lens. This lens is as crisp as a prime. I’ve shot a few nice landscapes with it as well as some crisp moon shots at 105. It’s more plastic than say the outstanding 85mm prime but that’s good because it makes the lens light enough to haul around. I hope to take it to an aquarium if we ever get this whole pandemic thing sorted. I even managed a decent hummingbird picture. Expensive but worth it
Purchased as I wanted to buy manufacturers own lens as opposed to a third party lens. Quite heavy and bulky but no more so than other manufacturers lenses of this type. A well built lens with excellent sharpness throughout the zoom range even at full aperture. Colours are also very good.

Light and very easy to use.
I’ve been enjoying and finding this lens to be beyond any traditional zoom lens. Very adaptable to most situations with great results every time. This lens on my a7r lll is about as good as it get. Total money invested gives a return likely from gear more than twice the cost. Nit pickers will always find something from Any her no matter the cost. If you look for a great picture that most cameras don’t deliver then get into this lens. The clarity and colors are fabulous. How that happens doesn’t matter. It just does.

Lens is great, Sony A7-aiii usb connector broken
Out of the box, the Sony A7-iii usb connector is broken, doesn't inspire confidence in the Quality process from Sony! Lens is great, Camera works great just annoyed with the flow, workaround is to use USB-C connector.

Sony 24-105mm f4 review
I bought this lens just over a week ago with my A7 iii camera coming from an Olympus micro 4/3 system. This lens is wider and bigger and heavier than my Olympus 12-100mm (equivalent to a 24-200mm) with less reach. However, it is very sharp and being a full frame lens I can cope with it as I've got to get used to a full frame system compared with my small 4/3 system.
