KA-EN200G H.265/HEVC Streaming Encoder

The KA-EN200G is an H.265/HEVC streaming encoder that provides high compression efficiency when used with JVC's CONNECTED CAM camcorders.

HEVC is far more efficient than the widely-used H.264/AVC compression standard. Inserting this adapter into the expansion slot of GY-HC500/550 and GY-HC900 camcorders enables HD streaming using the H.265/HEVC codec. This results in higher quality images with reduced bandwidth—up to 50% savings—and lets producers use 10-bit 4:2:2 rather than typical 8-bit 4:2:0 sampling. The KA-EN200G encodes video with standard, HLG or J-Log gamma. You get true contribution quality from a live stream.

  • H.265 compression produces similar quality to H.264 at 50% of bitrate or much higher quality at the same bitrate.
  • Supports contribution quality 1920 x 1080 4:2:2 10-bit signals, up to 24Mbps
  • Encodes HDR video with HLG or J-LOG Gamma
  • Supports UDP, Zixi and SRT streaming protocols
  • Inserts into expansion slot of GY-HC500 and GY-HC900 series camcorders
  • For decoding, JVC recommends the BR-DE900 decoder.
