BUD Standard DovetailDesigned to be paired with B4004.1038 – BUD Compatible Bottom Plate for Sony BURANO, the BUD standard dovetail on the top of the baseplate allows for quick release and easy balance adjustments. Its versatile design enables seamless transitions between setups, from baseplate to shoulder rig or gimbal plate, in mere seconds.

Room to balance

Once the camera is mounted onto the dovetail, it has 75mm of travel capability, allowing filmmakers to make precise adjustments for optimal positioning and stability during shooting sessions.

Open•UP quick release from any ARRI dovetail

The Open•UP quick release system is designed with a three-stage lever operation compatible with any ARRI standard dovetail. When the lever is forward, the camera can easily be lifted off the dovetail. In the middle position, the camera has the flexibility to move back and forth along the dovetail. Once the lever is closed, the camera securely locks into place.

Front & rear rod clamps with winged levers

The front and rear rod clamps, provide sturdy 15mm rod support, minimising flex and ensuring stability for mounting additional accessories.The clamps feature winged levers designed for easy gripping, even when wearing gloves.

Compatibility with ALEXA 35, ALEXA MINI & MINI LF

This baseplate is designed to work seamlessly with the ARRI ALEXA 35 when paired with a BUD-1 plate, and also with the ALEXA MINI & MINI LF when using the updated BUD-3 plate. It offers users a sleek solution when using ARRI dovetails, expanding the versatility of their current ARRI gear.

Compatible with LeftField risers

Similar to our original LeftField 3 15mm LWS baseplate, this version is compatible with our complete set of risers, allowing you to use it with various cameras without the need to purchase an entirely new baseplate.

ARRI standard heights

Crafted to align with ARRI standard heights for studio bridgeplate support, this baseplate can seamlessly transition to 15/19mm Studio configurations with the addition of B4003.1031 – LeftField 3 Studio/ARRI BP-8/BP-9 Adapter Dovetail. This ensures a flawless integration with studio bridgeplate systems.

Compatible with KASBAH Shoulder Pad

When paired with the baseplate, the B6000.1011 – KASBAH Shoulder Pad connects seamlessly to the ARRI dovetail mount atop the pad, functioning exactly as intended.The KASBAH shoulder pad can be attached to the back of the baseplate, however, this approach is not advised. It limits the sliding capabilities of the BUD bottom plate and requires the camera to be loaded from the front.For a handheld setup, we recommend the KASBAH Atman Shoulder Rig.

Instructions

The Open•UP quick release system features a three-stage lever operation. It includes two safety releases for transitioning between locked, slide, and release positions.To release from the rearward closed position, activate the ‘Unlock’ safety mechanism to enable the lever’s movement into the slide position.To transition from slide to release, press the silver safety button on the lever joint before pushing it forward to fully open.
