The neutral gray half of this graduated filter with a transmittance of 50% (1 f-stop) darkens the subject area in question by one f-stop without changing the color. For example, if the sky is too bright relative to the landscape, this is the ideal value for good cloud drawing and to prevent the blue sky from fading due to overexposure.
